The Mi Note from Xiaomi might be aiming to capture the top spot currently occupied by the iPhone range, but it will also have to take on the LG G3 which has proven to be an outstanding device.

In terms of design, the LG G3 has smaller bezels around its screen which is quite noticeable. However, it is almost entirely built from plastic with a faux plastic finish. It does have a metal band running around its edge. As for the Mi Note, it incorporates an aluminum frame which gives it a premium look. It has Corning Gorilla 3 Glass on its front and back which is curved.

As for their displays, the LG G3 has a true HD IPS plus LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. The Mi Note has a slightly bigger 5.7 inch IPS LCD screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.

Coming to specs, the Mi Note has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. Meanwhile the LG G3 has the Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. When it comes to RAM, the 16 GB version of the LG G3 comes with 2GB of RAM, while the 32GB version and the 16 GB version of the Mi Note have a similar 3 GB RAM.

A big difference between the two devices is that the LG G3 has a microSD slot which can be used to add external storage up to 128 GB. The Mi Note does not have one.

Comparing their cameras, again there is very little difference as both come with 13 megapixel cameras at the rear.

Finally in terms of price, the 16 GB Mi Note will be sold for $399 while the 32 GB version of the LG G3 is priced at $478 without a contract.
