The LG G3 made it to several lists of last year's best smartphones. Having firmly established its reputation, many people are waiting for the release of its successor this year.

While the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 has long been the first choice among manufacturers as the venue for releasing their latest devices, the LG appears not ready to present its latest smartphone in time for the event. Recent rumors indicated that the LG G4 could only be released in May at the earliest, much like its predecessor which was unveiled in May 2014.

Top-notch devices expected to be released during M.W.C. 2015 are the Galaxy S6 and the HTC M9.

Instead of the LG G4, LG plans to release a number of its wearable devices, including its smartwatch based on Open webOS, when M.W.C. opens on March 2, 2015.

Earlier this month LG unveiled the LG G Flex 2 powered with the latest Snapdragon 810 processor at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015. It has been rumored that the LG G4 will also have the same processor.

While the presence of the Snapdragon 810 is great news for many, industry sources have long hinted that it is plagued with overheating problems. This prompted Samsung to drop the processor for its flagship Galaxy S6.

This, in turn, sparked rumors that the release of LG G4 was being delayed until May so that the problems with overheating could be fixed by Qualcomm.

Meanwhile other rumors about the LG G4 claimed that it had a similar sized Quad-HD screen compared to the LG G3 or a slightly smaller version. Also the device will have slim bezels like its predecessor, 3 GB or even 4GB of RAM and a memory card slot. There are also indications that LG will try to take on the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge and include a similar stylus.
