LG G4 vs Galaxy S6 Edge Specs, Price Comparison: Features Review - S6 Edge Outshines in Design
The smartphones coming out in 2015 will have to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, which has been described as the best looking device released this year so far. The LG G4, the newest phone in the market, aims to outshine its curved edge competitor by offering users great specs covered in leather. Here is a comparison between the two latest phones in the market.
Design
As Samsung opted to use metal on its flagship devices this year, the Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a premium metal frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on its back panel. Its curved screen draws attention as it flows over the right and left side of the device. The curved edge can be used to display images of five important callers and colors associated with them in addition to news notifications and a night clock. As for the LG G4, it has a plastic body and a patterned polycarbonate back panel in grey, white and gold options. It also has premium leather with a choice of back panels dyed with natural colors. The panel comes with a stitch running down the middle which allows the user to get a good grip on the device.
Display
The displays on the two phones are similar, although the S6 Edge has a smaller screen. The LG G4 comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch, while the S6 Edge has a screen measuring 5.1 inches and with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch.
Specs
The LG G4 and the S6 Edge both have the latest specs, but the device from Samsung has eight cores compared to the six on its competitor. The LG G4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with two cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores and an Adreno 418 GPU. As for the S6 Edge, it has Samsung's latest Exynos 7420 chipset, a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.
Memory
The S6 Edge does not have a memory slot, which is present on its competitor and can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, both devices have 3 GB onboard.
Price
The 32 GB S6 Edge is priced at $299 with a two-year contract, while the 32 GB LG G4 could cost around $199 with a similar contract.
