LG G4 vs iPhone 6 Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - LG G4 Tops the Specs on iPhone 6
When LG's latest flagship, the LG G4, was launched last Tuesday, April 28, it was meant to pose as a serious competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S6, which was released just days before on April 10. But industry analysts say that if LG G4 wants to do well globally, it will have to take on the iPhone 6 from Apple which is still selling well a good six months after it was released.
Design
Apple's devices are known for their premium design elements, and the iPhone has all these elements, including a lovely aluminum unibody with rounded edges. It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into its home button, which is not present on its competitor. As for the LG G4, it has a very slight curve extending from top to bottom . It is made from plastic though and has a back panel made from polycarbonate in three colors. It also has optional leather back panels which come in a range of natural colors and provide a better grip.
Display
The IPS LCD display on the LG G4 is bigger and has more pixels per inch. It measures 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the iPhone 6 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch.
Specs
Since the hardware on the iPhone 6 is over six months old, its Apple A8 chipset and dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU along with PowerVR GX645 GPU appear to pale in comparison with the specs of the LG G4 which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and a Adreno 418 GPU.
Memory
In terms of RAM and memory slots, the LG G4 outranks the iPhone 6 as it has a memory slot which allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. Just like other iPhones, the iPhone 6 does not have a memory slot. As for RAM, the LG G4 has 3 GB compared to the 1 GB on the iPhone 6.
Camera
The 16 megapixel camera on the LG G4 with optical image stabilization is already earning raves and many industry insiders describe it as superior to the 8 megapixel version on the iPhone 6.
Price
The LG G4 could be priced at $768 in its unlocked state, while with a two-year contract it could cost $199. As for the iPhone 6 its 16 GB version costs $199 with a two-year contract.
