LG G4 vs LG G Flex 2 Specs, Features and Price Comparison: G Flex 2 Faster than LG G4
This year LG brought out two phablets with curved bodies: the G Flex 2 with a bigger curve and the G4 with a subtle curve, which the company dubbed the "SlimArc." Here is how the two devices compare.
Design
With both phablets having curved bodies, it is no surprise that they are made from plastic. However, only the G Flex 2 has a self-healing coating on its back panel. Since it first appeared on the G Flex, the coating has been improved and can now can heal minor scratches within 10 to 15 seconds. As for the LG G4, it has a default polycarbonate back panel with patterns. The device comes in three colors: grey, gold, and white with ceramic paint. The device also offers users the option to purchase a separate back panel in leather. The leather back panel comes in a variety of natural colors and with a stitch running down the middle. The back panel can easily be replaced or swapped with another panel.
Display
The display on the G Flex 2 features a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch. On the LG G4 is an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.
Specs
When it comes to specs, the G Flex 2 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset; hence, it is faster. Coupled with it is an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. The LG G4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz, and an Adreno 418 GPU.
Memory
Both devices have memory slots and each can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. They are also similar in terms of RAM as each has 3 GB onboard.
Camera
The camera on the LG G4 is slightly better as it is a 16-megapixel version with optical image stabilization, which is also present on the 13-megapixel camera on the LG G Flex 2.
Price
The retail price of the LG G4 is $600. It is expected to cost around $199 with a two-year contract. As for the LG G Flex 2, it is priced at $299 with a two-year contract.
