'Longmire' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Walt and Vic to get closer; complications awaiting their romance?

"Longmire" season 5 will be teeming with new challenges and issues that will ultimately affect and change the course of the life and relationships of Walt (Robert Taylor).

In the books by Craig Johnson that inspired the Netflix favorite, Walt and Vic (Katee Sachoff) end up together. "Longmire" season 5 is set to go down that direction too, as suggested by executive producer Hunt Baldwin.

While it is true that Walt is all over Donna (Ally Walker) at the moment, this romance might not last long. Baldwin admitted in an interview with Yahoo TV that there is an "interesting tension" between Vic and Walt, which could develop in "Longmire" season 5.

In the previous season, Vic confronted Walt about the lingering sexual tension between them that neither he nor she seems to want to acknowledge. The timing could never be more perfect, as Vic has just come to terms to her marriage ending.

Now, Vic will be leading the charge in the mission of getting the person responsible for putting Walt in the hospital bed in the final moments of the previous season of "Longmire." This can also pave the way for Vic to be closer to Walt.

According to speculations, Donna may have something to do with the attack at Walt's home last season or may at least be involved at a certain extent with whoever crashed their little party.

This will definitely open the possibility of Vic and Walt getting together in "Longmire" season 5. With Vic already able to recognize something between her and the sheriff, it won't be long before Walt realizes it too.

On the action side of things, Walt will be dealing with an Irish family who he believes is responsible for a drug-related murder that will rock the town at some point in the season. Casting for the brood is ongoing.

"Longmire" season 5 has no release date yet, but word has it that the new episodes will be available for streaming on Netflix by September.
