As the Los Angeles Lakers try to continue rebuilding their team, there are rumors circulating that a young star may be on the way out of Hollywood.

Rumors have it that the Lakers are looking to off-load Clarkson to the Philadelphia 76ers and get big man Jahlil Okafor in return.

This is seen as a possible move due to the fact that the Lakers have a guard they see for the future in D'Angelo Russell, and it appears Clarkson is surplus to their needs.

In getting Okafor, the Lakers will be able to add more depth at the center position, as Okafor displayed his capabilities during his time with the Sixers. With the Lakers acquiring Timofey gov, having Okafor in the lineup will give them a different look as Okafor is quicker and has more moves on both ends.

This makes sense for the Sixers as well since the team is loaded at the big man position as Philadelphia has Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid as the big men aside from Okafor. And if these men are all healthy, then there will definitely be a logjam at the center position for the Sixers.

However, reports also claimed that the trade is not possible, citing Clarkson's new four-year $50 million deal that just shows how much the Lakers want him to stay.

However, getting the chance to get a proven player in Okafor who is young and promising should still play in their minds and things should still unfold in the coming days.

In his two years with the Lakers, Clarkson has steadily improved. He averaged 12 points per game in his rookie year and improved to 15.5 in his sophomore season.

He also showed that he was capable of playing an entire season, missing out on only three games and starting each time he made it to the floor.

Both teams may benefit from this trade, but they should still reconsider everything before making the move, both Okafor and Clarkson are very promising and may become bigger stars in the years to come.
