Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors: Lakers eyeing big man from Sacramento?
At the moment, everything is good in Hollywood as the Los Angeles Lakers are over the .500 mark. However, there might still be some moves that could improve the squad.
The Lakers pulled off an impressive win in their last game which helped them reach an 8-7 record.
They have an impressive core but if rumors are to be believed, they might try to swoop in for a star to hopefully turn their positive run to a playoff sprint.
According to a rumor, the Lakers might be eyeing a move that would bring DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings to Hollywood in exchange for three players – namely D'Angelo Russell, Nick Young and Lou Williams.
This might look like a lot but the Lakers are sending off two veterans in exchange for a superstar. The biggest name for the Lakers to lose is undoubtedly Russell.
As an emerging star, Russell is averaging great numbers this year with 16.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Furthermore, he is making big plays and bringing excitement back to the Lakers with his open play and unshakable confidence.
Losing him will create a big gap in the guard position as he and Jordan Clarkson have created a great partnership in the back-court for the Lakers.
However, adding Cousins, arguably the best center in the game today, is also something extremely difficult to say no to.
Cousins is putting up impressive numbers. He is currently averaging 26.9 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in the season. He has also improved in his free throw shooting, jumping four percent to 77 from his career number of 73.
This is undoubtedly a big potential trade for both teams as the Lakers may get a dominant big man, while the Kings will have a young leader in Russell with whom they can build a team around.
