Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors: Lakers looking to trade Brandon Ingram to the Suns
Despite showing promise, rumors are circulating that Brandon Ingram may be making his way out of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The forward was drafted by the Lakers in the 2016 NBA Draft and was picked second overall behind Ben Simmons. He was later signed to a multi-year deal by the Lakers and is set to earn around $5.3 million in the 2016-17 season.
With so much promise to start off, it appears that rumors are already linking Ingram to a move away from Hollywood, with Arizona as a new destination for his talents.
It seems that the Phoenix Suns may be striking a deal with L.A. to bring in Ingram, and the Suns are apparently ready to part ways with one of their young and rising stars, Devin Booker.
This comes as a surprise move as Booker seemed like one of the cornerstones in the Suns' future.
After having a successful rookie year, Booker averaged 13.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 76 regular season games for Phoenix. Furthermore, he shot a reliable 42 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc.
However, the rumored move may be motivated by the fact that the Suns believe Ingram may have the higher ceiling when he hits his prime, while the Lakers may be impressed by Booker overall.
Though the Lakers might see Booker as a bigger asset, it may cause a log jam as the Lakers already have young and capable guards who could be set for the future.
D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson appear to create a good partnership for the Lakers and adding Booker might disrupt that chemistry. as Booker will definitely demand minutes.
If this rumor turns out to be true, it should be interesting to see how the Suns turn out as they will lose a potent scorer for someone who can do it all but may need more time to emerge.
