Netflix recently announced that "Luke Cage" has been picked up for a second season. Meanwhile, could Luke (Mike Colter) bring together a band of heroes in season 2?

The network giant announced that "Luke Cage" will continue to its second season by posting a video on the show's official Facebook and Twitter pages of Pop's (Frankie Faison) shop flashing that season 2 will be coming soon.

A photo was also posted featuring Luke with Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Cornell's (Mahershala Ali) silhouettes behind him with the caption, "The past is present." This might indicate the unfinished stories that took place in season 1 will catch up with Luke.

Previously in "Luke Cage" season 1, Luke was sentenced to serve time in jail in Seagate Prison because of Mariah (Alfre Woodard). Meanwhile, Mariah was able to walk away from killing Cornell because Shades (Theo Rossi) killed the star witness, Candace (Deborah Ayorinde). Also, the defeated Diamondback (Erik LaRay Harvey), after his fight with Luke, was treated by Dr. Burstein (Michael Kostroff).

Details about the plot for "Luke Cage" season 2 have been scarce, but iTechPost reports that Luke might be bringing Heroes for Hire into the show.

In season 1, Pop's barbershop was destroyed during a shootout and Luke set out to rebuild it. By the end of the season, it was destroyed again, but Luke is determined to keep the space. This might be the space used for the headquarters of Heroes for Hire.

Heroes for Hire originated from the "Luke Cage" comic series, where Luke gathered superheroes and created a private investigation firm that fought and fixed crimes. Heroes for Hire were composed of Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Elektra, Punisher, Ant-Man, and Deadpool.

Three of those characters already exist in the Marvel Universe created by Netflix, so it is possible that those three will be recruited by Luke in Heroes for Hire.

"Luke Cage" season 2 is expected to debut in 2018 on Netflix.
