Apple fans are currently expecting the Cupertino-based company to hold a big event next month to launch several of their upcoming devices. While many people are focusing on the iPhone 7 launching, some are excited for other releases such as the MacBook Pro 2016 and the highly anticipated 2016 MacBook Air. According to the report the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 model will carry impressive specs and features that would give its competitors a run for their money once the laptop hits the shelves.

However, there are reports suggesting that Apple will no longer continue the MacBook Air series and will focus on the upcoming release of MacBook Pro 2016. There are speculations saying that the new MacBook Pro will replace the MacBook Air as Apple's flagship laptop.

According to BGR, Apple's decision not to do major upgrades on MacBook Air has affected the popularity of its current flagship laptop. According to the publication, tech fans have slowly lost its interest on another MacBook Air model.

Many tech analysts are speculating that when the current MacBook was released in March 2015, it signals the end of the MacBook Air series.

"This wasn't the MacBook Air, but instead leaped past the Air," said chief analyst Jan Dawson. "They kept the MacBook Air around just as they do with older iPhones, but the MacBook is now in the same position as the newest iPhone. That makes me wonder if the Air will go away over time."

Meanwhile, according to Vine Report if Apple will release a new MacBook Air model in 2016, it will carry several exciting features such as the Touch ID fingerprint recognition and Apple's famous assistant, Siri. It is also expected to run on Intel's current Skylake processor.

The publication added that MacBook Air 2016 will be in the market anytime soon with a price tag of $980 for the 13-inch model, while the 15-inch laptop will be available at $1,100.
