MacBook Air Retina 2014 Release Date: May Arrive Stores this Fall or Early 2015
Rumor has it that the highly anticipated MacBook Air Retina 2014 could arrive in stores this fall. Others speculate that the launching will be made after the holidays, or early 2015, given that there has been no word at all from Apple regarding the release date. Others though point out that Apple's silence is quite normal ahead of its releases.
Details about the MacBook Air incorporating a 12-inch retina display have been circulating, but there has been no official word about it either. Neither has there been any official word about the "fan-less quiet design", which has been rumored with Intel's Broadwell chips. The chips, scheduled to arrive this 2015, may be affecting the production of the Apple laptop.
The idea of a 12-inch MacBook does fit well with Apple's most recent version of the MacBook Air, which is only 11 inches. The MacBook could indeed use the power of a larger model. Some reports suggest that a bigger MacBook Air will finally establish a clearer difference in size with the iPad Air for the two gadgets to stop "competing" with each other in the market and boost sales.
Apple updated the prices of the MacBook Air and Pro families earlier this year. This is only fair to consumers as there have been no significant changes and chip upgrades from Intel, although the processors are generally faster and more efficient.
Besides the 12-inch display, the MacBook Air may feature a "2K screen resolution; 1.35kg; 128GB or 256GB SSD; 1.4GHz Intel Core i5; 4GB RAM; 2x USB 3.0; Mini DisplayPort / Thunderbolt 2.0; Memory card reader; 720p FaceTime camera", according to various reports.
