MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs rumors update: Laptop's upcoming release delayed?

The most awaited release of Apple's newest flagship laptop, MacBook Pro 2016, has reportedly been cancelled. It was previously reported that the portable computer will be launched in September along with Apple's seventh-generation iPhone smartphone. Apparently, the new laptop will no longer carry the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. The decision to eliminate the port was allegedly made following a rumor suggesting that Apple will go with wireless ear buds for the new MacBook Pro 2016.

According to a report by The Bit Bag, the upcoming release of iPhone 7 could be the reason why MacBook Pro 2016 will not see the light of day anytime soon. According to the publication, the Cupertino-based company is currently focusing on the release of their flagship smartphone. Due to its development and major preparation for the release, the company could no longer accommodate working on another product.

It is also reported that the iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro 2016 will be the first two hardware devices from Apple to carry this design with no headphone jack. However, these reports have yet to be confirmed by the company.

Despite the contradicting news with regard to its release date, 9to5mac reported that KGI security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple's new MacBook Pro 2016 is going for a new design.

According to the publication, all rumored specs and features of the laptop could be true. It has been reported several times that the MacBook Pro 2016 will carry an OLED panel right above the keyboard replacing the basic function keys. The device is also speculated to have a USB Type-C connected and Touch ID sensor.

The new laptop will also come with the Sierra operating system, which was introduced at the recently concluded Worldwide Developers Conference 2016 in June.

As of the moment, Apple has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release of the MacBook Pro 2016. Many fans, however, believe that it is only a matter of time before the company makes an official announcement.
