MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs rumors: New MacBook Pros coming in the fall?
Apple fans are still eagerly awaiting the MacBook Pro 2016, even though the tech giant has been conspicuously silent about its plans for the popular MacBook Pro range.
The last time the MacBook Pro lineup was updated was more than a year ago, when the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro was updated in March 2015 and when a new 15-inch MacBook Pro was released in May of the same year.
For fans of the MacBook Pro, more than enough time has passed since the last MacBook Pro updates, which could only mean that new MacBook Pros are imminent.
Fans and analysts alike are now expecting Apple to revamp its MacBook Pro lineup sometime in the fourth quarter of 2016. According to Apple Insider, the MacBook Pro 2016 will likely come loaded with Intel's latest Skylake processors, which should give the Pro a substantial power boost and longer battery life.
The website also notes that there is talk of the MacBook Pro getting a complete redesign, though there is no sufficient evidence to back up this claim.
Nonetheless, Apple Insider expects the new MacBook Pro to come in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes, have a thinner chassis, support wireless charging, and have USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3.
Other websites indicate that the MacBook Pro 2016 may also feature an OLED touchbar that will take the place of the Pro's function keys. There have also been speculations that the MacBook Pro 2016 iteration could come with a detachable keyboard or screen and that Apple will remove the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favor of a USB-C port.
MacWorld suggests that the MacBook Pro 2016 is coming in the fall and that the new models have been delayed because the MacBook Pro is getting more significant updates than the 2015 MacBooks got.
Apple has not released an official announcement about the MacBook Pro 2016.
