"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" might hit the shelves sooner than fans initially expected.

Capcom producer Tomoaki Ayano recently revealed a more specific launch window for the anticipated crossover game, indicating that it will come out in late 2017. In an interview with 4Gamer about Capcom's upcoming fighting game lineup, Ayano mentioned that the company plans to release the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" late in the year. This puts the launch in the middle of the fall gaming rush season, which makes perfect sense because it will probably be one of this year's biggest titles. Ayano remained tight-lipped about a release month, but there's a possibility that a definitive release date could be announced at the E3 event in June.

While waiting for a release date, fans are looking forward to the announcement of new characters, particularly those that have never appeared in the franchise before. Gamers are also excited to see which characters from the "Marvel vs. Capcom" universe are coming back, like the recently revealed Ryu, Captain America, and Iron Man.

On another note, a Twitter/Reddit user named Ten Count Fall shared a complete roster of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" characters through social media, along with a number of details that made it seem credible at first glance. It turns out that the lineup is fake, according to a NeoGaf user named Royce, who previously leaked that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" would be revealed at this year's PSX. "That leak is fake. You're welcome. Guys, that list is 100% BS. I've heard things that debunk it," Royce said.

PVP Live points out that the roster is indeed fake because it has a number of red flags on it. Giant characters like Fing Fang Foom was added to the list, along with characters from long-forgotten Capcom games including "Power Stone" characters and Nina from "Breath of Fire 2."
