The Capcom Cup 2016 came as a surprise for all enthusiasts of "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite" as a new trailer was shown. Broadcasted by ESPN2, the video features four characters, plus two more fighters to join the game. It was also announced that both companies will be sharing more details as soon as the executive producers are able to agree on a release date.

Four popular characters are to be included in the imminent "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite," including Mega Man, Ryu, Captain Marvel and Iron Man. To further give the fans more reason to wait for the title, there is news that Morrigan and Captain America will also appear in the game.

Morrigan has already appeared in the "Darkstalkers" series by Capcom while the iconic Captain America belongs to the Marvel world. The video trailer shows that Morrigan's Darkness illusion is still intact in "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite," while Captain America still has its powerful Hyper-Charging Star attack.

Speculations arise that the "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite" will feature a two-on-two, but there is another character to portray as an assist. This apparently has brought back the gameplay of the earlier titles. Aside from this, characters can also utilize the Infinity Gems to get a boost of power.

The six Infinity Gems can be used for certain advantages as their use differs for every character. Each of the gems represents a respective aspect in the Universe, specifically Power, Reality, Space, Time, Mind and Soul. The trailer that was shown at the Capcom 2016 event had featured the Power Gem used by Ryu before Ms. Marvel used the Time Infinity Gem to respond to Ryu's attack.

There is no release date announced for "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite," but it is already slated to come out in 2017 for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC. Apparently, Capcom and Marvel are still discussing the release of the title, as well as the terms associated with it.
