The release date of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is finally revealed together with the latest gameplay trailer that was launched during the Nvidia Keynote event at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017.

The start of the trailer centered on the journey of the starship Tempest, which is tasked to look for new planets to be colonized by the Human species. Then the action started to pick up when the Pathfinder and the rest of his team got stranded on a mysterious alien planet where a lot of unknown danger is waiting to unfold.

The trailer also showed some of the new upgrades and abilities that will be introduced in the upcoming successor of the 2012-released "Mass Effect 3."

BioWare general manager, Aaryn Flynn, revealed in a press release on the game's official website that the upcoming "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be the biggest installment of the third-person action role-playing game to date, which is why they have to push back the game's release from the end of 2016 to the first quarter of 2017.

"We're telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we're bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that's delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda," Flynn stated in the press release.

This explained why the development for the next "Mass Effect" game is taking a long time before it finally comes out in the market event if it was first announced back in 2012.

Based on the trailer, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is slated to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One and PC on March 21 for the North American market, while those who will purchase the game in Europe and the rest of the world will be able to get their hands on the game on March 23.
