'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date, update: Release date accidentally leaked?
Fans who have been waiting for the upcoming action third-person shooter video game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" are still clueless as to when the game will be coming out. Until now, developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts have not made any announcement regarding its release.
According to the latest news, Dark Horse Comics may have accidentally leaked the release date of the game through an Amazon listing. The online retailer posted a listing of a book titled "The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda," which is said to launch on March 21, 2017.
It appeared as an ordinary listing with details on what the book is all about. But below the blurb, one could read a description saying: "Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!"
Although it did not reveal further information, it clearly implied that BioWare's forthcoming title will be released next year instead of the rumored holiday release. Earlier reports suggested that the game was originally targeted for a holiday 2016 release but it was eventually said that it will be delayed to next year.
It's not much of a surprise though since "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is a big and high-profile game and the developer team isn't committed to announce a release date just yet. However, neither BioWare nor Dark Horse has made any comments regarding the leaked date. Thus, until they make official announcement, it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
As for what's to come in the game, rumor has it that the game will be featuring The Remnant, which is the solution of Adromeda's remains to the Protheans. New alien species will also be introduced into the game although there is no word yet on what kind of aliens they would be.
Moreover, reports said that the game will be featuring some romantic relationships among the space explorers.
