'Master Chief Collection' Latest Updates, News: Game Gets Team Doubles; New Features Coming Soon
The Xbox One exclusive game "Master Chief Collection" was released last year to a lukewarm reception. But since then, it has been improving steadily.
Recently, game developer 343 Industries brought out a Team Doubles playlist. This month, the game will see more changes as outlined on Halo Waypoint.
Playing Team Doubles in "The Master Chief Collection," players can utilize the 2v2 mode.
The game will later extend to "Halo 2 Classic," "Halo 2: Anniversary," "Halo 3" and "Halo 4." In its statement, 343 Industries said it plans to bring out "voting options and weighing to improve the mix of battle rifle start game types." It said this would only come in a future update.
In the weeks ahead, the developers said they will provide a Team Objective playlist. Going into its details, 343 Industries said it could include "Capture the Flag" and "King of the Hill" which are objective-based game types that cater to tacticians and strategists within the ranks of players who were disappointed when it was not announced last week. As icing on the cake, the developers also announced that they planned to reintroduce SWAT.
As for the April update, the company said this is not yet ready but would make the announcement of the release date as soon as the test phase was complete. However, the content update will be released on time, 343 Industries said, noting that this is on track and has not hit any delay.
Included in the April update will be adjusted ranking, and other improvements pertaining to titles. Those who quit or betray are also destined to get new penalties when the update is released.
343 Industries also announced its upcoming game titled "Halo 5: Guardians." The blog post on Halo Waypoint indicated that the #HuntTheTruth hashtag could be used to follow 26th century journalist Benjamin Giraud as he tries to unveil who Master Chief was and how he became the hero around which the game series is based.
