Memphis Grizzlies trade rumors 2016: Need to add Kevin Martin to line-up

In a new age in the National Basketball Association (NBA) where shooters are the dominant players in the league, it is surprising that Kevin Martin is still without an NBA team.

Back in the early 2000s, centers like Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan were dominating the sport, and teams needed big men to get them deep into the playoffs.

However, this time, the sharp shooters are needed more, with the Golden State Warriors showing that having shooters who can light up from beyond the arc can get you to a championship.

Among those shooters is Kevin Martin, a 33-year-old journeyman who is still considered as one of the better shooters in the league.

He last played for the San Antonio Spurs but was heavily unutilized in the team, playing only 16 games and averaging six points per game.

In the earlier half of that season, Martin was with the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged 10.6 points, but he found himself out of place as the team was run by young stars.

Now, many are wondering why no one has picked Martin up yet, but Fan Sided believes that Martin should be a perfect fit with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies are a strong team with a diverse squad that could contend.

They got to re-sign Mike Conley, and they still have their core intact with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.

The team also picked up a few young stars to keep with the times and to pick up the pace when the starters take their needed rest.

However, they seem lacking on the bench, and that is where Martin comes in perfectly.

He can lead the bench with his veteran savvy and impressive shooting. Many seem to forget that Martin is a career 17.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 38 percent from beyond the arc.

Where his speed and athleticism may be gone, his touch from the outside will always be his saving grace.

Additionally, he is likely to come in very cheap, so he should be a perfect pickup for the Grizzlies.
