Michael Schumacher health condition news update: Schumacher keeping F1 legend's condition private?
A trip in the French Alps back in 2013 ended in tragedy when Formula One racer Michael Schumacher was involved in a skiing accident, leaving him with severe injuries to the head. Since the incident, the Schumacher family has been steadfast in their resolve to keep the details of his health condition private.
The latest and closest update that fans has heard came from former Mercedes chief executive Ross Brawn, who revealed that Schumacher is somehow recovering from his injuries.
"There are encouraging signs and we are all praying every day that we see more of them," said Brawn, as reported by Telegraph. "All I would say is there is a lot of speculation about Michael's condition, most of it's wrong and we just pray and hope every day that we continue to see from progress," he added.
In an interview with Gulf News this December, former teammate and rival Johnny Herbert was asked if he was aware of any updates about Schumacher's condition.
"All you'll hear are there are good days and bad days. I don't know when those days are. I know no more than anybody else," Herbert said in response.
Despite the shroud of mystery and secrecy behind the Formula One champion's health condition, it has been previously reported that Schumacher's team has finally decided to be reconnected with the public and the racer's loyal fans. Schumacher's public relations team recently activated an official Facebook page and an Instagram account on Schumacher's behalf.
"Welcome everyone to Michael's paddock! We love to share memories with you and what better start could there be than the upcoming anniversary of Michael's first world championship title," the first post on Schumacher's official Facebook page read.
Schumacher's Facebook page has, so far, gained about 1.5 million likes while his Instagram account acquired more than 130,000 followers. Both accounts are constantly updated to commemorate Schumacher's previous victories and most memorable races.
