The Surface Phone is expected to arrive sometime next year.
According to Game N Guide, Microsoft is not yet confirming the months-long rumor that the Surface Phone will be released in the coming months. The company did not disclose their plans regarding the Surface series, whether it will extend well into the smartphone department via Surface Phone. However, it seems likely that Microsoft is setting up the Surface Phone as their ultimate plan to conquer the handset market as well.
Even without Microsoft's confirmation, the tech enthusiasts have already embraced the idea of a Surface Phone. It will be great to see the Surface devices' signature features and design in a powerful Microsoft handset. Likewise, the Surface Phone may finally put the Microsoft on the map as one of the top handset developers.
According to PC Advisor, the Surface Phone will be sporting a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen display for better visuals. The handset will be boasting a 64-bit Kaby Lake chipset, which is the next generation of Intel processor. It will be packed with 4 GB RAM and an internal storage capacity ranging from 32 GB to 128 GB, depending on the Surface Phone variant. For now, the Surface Phone is believed to come in three variants based on the storage capacity, namely the 32 GB, 64 GB, and top-tier 128 GB model.
The Surface Phone is also expected to have its own special Surface Pen, a microSD card slot plus an enhanced Carl Zeiss rear camera of up to 21MP. The appearance of the next Microsoft smartphone can be visualized as a smaller version of a mini Surface tablet. As the latest addition to the Surface family, the Surface Phone is expected to retain the classic Surface standard with all-metal components.
