Microsoft Surface Phone release date: powerful device to battle top mobiles
Despite only being rumored to come out soon, the anticipation for the Microsoft Surface Phone has steadily increased.
People are wondering what Microsoft has to offer and how they can contend with some of the biggest smartphone brands available today.
Also, with so many people already used to Apple's iOS and the Android OS, many are starting to wonder what Microsoft can bring to the table to make people switch allegiances.
Now, new details have been making rounds online, with some reporting the positive update shared by Microsoft's corporate vice president of Windows, Kevin Gallo.
According to The Register, Gallo believes that the new phone they are developing is going to be a high-end phone, ready to battle some of the most expensive and technologically advanced mobiles. It will also be tweaked towards the enterprise market.
Despite failing to give the specific name of the device, Gallo explained that with it, they plan to try and immediately go up to the top, adding that trying to settle for low-end devices will not help the company.
Gallo said, "We're really aligned to what we've done on the Windows desktop, which is we'll lead with some high end and category innovation like we've done with Surface, and OEMs will go and build the breadth of the catalog."
And with the concentration on specs and the phone likely sporting a premium feel and look, the device is expected to come in three variants, according to The News Independent. The highest model called "Pro" will house 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage; the "Advanced" version will have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage; and finally, the "Basic" version will sport 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
