Many fans are still waiting for Microsoft to announce the release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2. There have been contradicting reports with regard to its development and launch; however, the most disappointing rumor thus far is that both devices will not be released until 2017. Nevertheless, a new report has emerged suggesting that the two highly anticipated laptops might be unveiled at the rumored Microsoft event, which is said to happen this coming fall.

According to a report by ZDnet, tech observers predict that a new Microsoft Surface device may come out before the year ends. However, there is confirmation whether it will be the Surface Pro 5 or the Surface Book 2 that gets rolled out. There are also speculations saying that it could be the Surface Phone, which fans are also anticipating to arrive in 2016.

Previous reports suggested that the release of all Microsoft Surface products is delayed due to software and hardware issues. Reports have circulated saying that the American software giant is waiting for the next generation Intel processor called Kaby Lake to become available for them to build the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 around it. The powerful processor is said to be under development as of the moment; however, industry observers predict that the hardware unit should be ready at the end of 2016.

The other issue fans and critics are looking at is the development of the upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system. Rumor has it that the two laptops are expected to arrive with pre-installed Redstone 2; however, Microsoft has yet to finish the full version of the OS.

Meanwhile, the rumored Microsoft fall event has started to gain some media attention in the tech industry as the company is also speculated to release a new all in one (AIO) PC. However, Microsoft has remained mum about all the reports.
