An unknown millionaire is reportedly offering to pay $30 million for information on who shot down the Malaysia Airlines flight 17 back in July.

The anonymous millionaire has reportedly offered to pay the German private investigation company Wifka $30 million to determine which groups had been involved with the crash of the Malaysian Airlines 17 flight on July 17.

According to The Wire, this bounty is $5 million more than what the United States offered for information to track down terrorist Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11 terrorist attacks.

A statement on Wifka's website reads: "After the terrible assassination or 'accident' all political parties, at home and abroad, said they owed it to the victims, their families and the public to clarify the circumstances of the crash and present evidence for what happened. None of this has yet been done."

"Whoever provides evidence that identifies those behind the shoot down, will be given the reward of 30 million dollars. The money is securely deposited in Zurich, Switzerland. It will be paid there or in a different neutral place of the whistle-blower's choice."

The statement goes on to claim that the person offering the $30 million has also offered to give the "whistleblower" a new identity.

Earlier this month, a Dutch investigation determined that the MH17 aircraft had been downed by "external forces."

"The damage observed in the forward section of the aircraft appears to indicate that the aircraft was penetrated by a large number of high-energy objects from outside the aircraft," the investigative report, conducted by the Dutch Safety Board, read. "It is likely that this damage resulted in a loss of structural integrity of the aircraft, leading to an in-flight break up."
