Minnesota Vikings Management Supports Return of Adrian Peterson
The owner of the Minnesota Vikings NFL team recently said that his organization "would love" to have Adrian Peterson back on their roster.
Peterson was suspended from the team during the 2014 season after facing a child abuse case regarding his four year old son in Montgomery, Texas. Peterson was taken to court after he allegedly beat the child with a switch, leaving bruises and scratches on the child's face, arms and legs.
The heads of the Minnesota Vikings team have agreed that they'd like to see Peterson back with the team, including coach Mike Zimmer, general manager Rick Spielman, and owner Mark Wilf.
"I think, as you've heard from coach Zimmer and our general manager Rick Spielman, you know Adrian has done a lot of good in this community," Wilf said this week in a statement posted to the Vikings website. "He's done a lot for us on the football field as well, and of course, he's a Minnesota Viking and we'd love to have him back."
"Of course a lot depends on the NFL and the steps he's making on his own personal journey, but that's where we're at with it," Wilf added.
Just last week, Peterson said he would "of course" like to play with the Vikings team again in the 2015 season.
''It's good to be back in Minnesota,'' Peterson added.
According to CBS Sports, Peterson cannot apply for reinstatement with the team until April 15. The Vikings running back is set to make $12.75 million during the 2015 season.
