'Modern Family' season 8 cast news, spoilers: 'Alias' alum Victor Garber lands guest starring role as Claire's favorite celebrity chef
An "Alias" alum will be cooking things up on an upcoming episode of "Modern Family" season 8.
According to reports, Victor Garber was recently tapped to guest star in the hit ABC comedy as a celebrity chef. In the episode scheduled to air next month, viewers will see that Claire (Julie Bowen) is a huge fan of the "particular" Chef Dumont and his popular cooking show. The Dunphy matriarch learns about his cooking classes, so she attends one with her eldest daughter, Haley (Sarah Hyland). The episode with Garber will also feature the return of Rob Riggle and a guest role for Peyton Manning.
Aside from playing Dr. Martin Stein on "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," Garber also has a recurring role on Starz's "Power." This will be his second time to act alongside Hyland as they previously starred in a 1999 TV adaptation of "Annie." Some of his most notable feature film credits include "Titanic" and "Argo." Martin Short, Vanessa Bayer, Kelsey Grammer, and Nathan Fillion have also appeared this season as guest stars.
Before the said episode, Wednesday's "Modern Family" episode, titled "Sarge & Pea," will feature yet another milestone for the Dunphys and the Pritchetts. Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Phil (Ty Burrell) take Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) on a college tour, and they'll both realize that they have very different ways of getting their kids ready for their new adventure.
Meanwhile, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) feels that an anonymous and rude parent robbed him of a precious "Lily moment" during her recent dance recital. While he and Hayley are visiting Alex (Ariel Winter) at her coffee shop, Cam recognizes the culprit and goes to great lengths to unravel her identity. On the other hand, Mitch (Jesse Tyler-Ferguson), Jay (Ed O'Neil), and Claire attend the wedding of a relative, but things take a different turn when they unexpectedly run into Dede (Shelley Long) at the reception.
The eighth season of "Modern Family" airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
