Moto G 4G (2015) Review: Motorola Releases New Version of Popular Smartphone
Motorola has released a new version of its popular budget smartphone, the Moto G 4G (2015 edition).
The affordable device was made available in the United Kingdom last week before coming to stores in the U.S. like Tesco, Amazon, Argos, Asda, Sainsbury's, and Carphone Warehouse on Monday.
Now owned by Lenovo, Motorola has made the same software and hardware for the device except for the 4G-capable modem.
The Moto G 4G (2015) retains its predecessor's five-inch high definition display on 720 pixel screen and a choice of black or white front body while its back can use a variety of colorful and replaceable cases.
The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz per core, and a quad-core processor with Adreno 305 GPU clocked at 450Mhz. It also has 1GB of RAM.
The Moto G 4G (2015) comes with a 2390 mAh battery and a water-resistant coating to protect the device from splashes and rain. It also comes pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Consumers can purchase the new budget smartphone for £159 which is only £10 higher than the 3G model.
In 2013, the original Moto G was announced but it didn't feature 4G or a microSD card slot, inspiring Motorola to quickly release a new model with those upgrades but with the same name.
In 2014, the second generation Moto G or more commonly known as the Moto G2 arrived with a larger screen and better camera but without 4G.
