According to reports, the Moto Z Play will still feature the basic 3.5 mm headphone jack. The speculation is based on the recent leaks that show the image of what appears to be the new Moto Z Play. The latest report is quite interesting especially that it was previously rumored that the device will follow Apple's plan to ditch the 3.5 mm headphone port.

According to a report by SlashGear, the leaked image of Moto Z Play shows the 3.5mm headphone port in between the Moto Z Force and Moto Z. The publication added that base on the handset's design; the smartphone may come out with a much cheaper price compared to the previous models.

Tech observers suggest that Motorola and Lenovo have been planning to put the traditional headphone jack to its upcoming smartphone because they do not see any difference between the standard and the new Lightning port. People are also not yet sold with the new audio port as most consumers are still using the headphone with 3.5 mm jack.

The leaked photo also suggests that the new Moto Z Play is thicker than the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.

Meanwhile, in a report by 9 to 5 Google, the device will run on Snapdragon 625 from Qualcomm paired with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage capacity. However, another variant will arrive with the same chipset but higher RAM at 3 GB RAM and bigger storage capacity at 32 GB.

As of the moment, the company has yet to provide release date and pricing details of the upcoming device.
