'Mr. Robot' season 2 release date, spoilers news: Elliot left with no choice but to do what he does best; Mr. Robot not going anywhere
Mr. Robot has just made it clear to Elliott that he is here to stay. Elliot tried to avoid Mr. Robot's "existence" by focusing on other things, but could he win his battle against his alter ego? Next week's episode of "Mr. Robot" season 2 will try to answer that question for viewers.
In the meantime, last Wednesday's episode had Elliot (Rami Malek) realizing how beautiful life could be–a normal life with friends, enjoying what life has to offer–if Mr. Robot weren't around. Elliot has already discovered that drowning his misery in Adderall will not make Mr. Robot go away. So this time, he's determined to avoid the sinister alter ego any way he can.
Before the episode ended, Elliot was ready to help Ray (Craig Robinson) with a "computer problem," and in a way, fans saw the troubled young man seemingly accepting Ray's hand in friendship. The episode saw Elliot still fighting his inner demons, but realizing that it would be much easier to avoid it as best he could.
He found himself back in the game. The hacking game, that is. He uses his sister Darlene's (Carly Chaikin) problem as an excuse to go deeper into the game, and before long, he was hacking the FBI.
The next episode titled "eps2.3logic-b0mb.hc" will see Elliot putting his war with Mr. Robot on hold. He's a man on a mission the moment his fingertips touched the keyboard, purportedly to help his sister, but fans know that his attempt to hack the FBI isn't just to help Darlene. It won't be long before Elliot discovers that this "game" is vast, complicated, and potentially overwhelming.
"Elliot can't quit the game; Dom and the FBI head to China to investigate 5/9; Joanna is haunted; and Darlene calls on Angela for help," reads the synopsis for the next episode.
"Mr. Robot" season 2, episode 5 will also have viewers finding out more about Ray and his character. Is he a friend of Elliot's or a foe? What is Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) planning? Why was Angela (Portia Doubleday) indifferent when Darlene paid her a visit?
Those questions will be answered when "Mr. Robot" season 2 returns on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9 p.m. CT/10 p.m. EST on USA Network.
