'Naruto Shippuden' episode 482 spoilers: 'Boyhood Arc' takes on the demon child from Suna and the genius bum from Konoha

Before they were leaders, they were just kids trying to find their place in the world. "Naruto Shippuden: Boyhood Arc" continues next week with episode 482, "Gaara-Shikamaru." | Facebook/Naruto

"Naruto Shippuden" continues its "Boyhood Arc" next week with a peek into the younger years of Gaara and Shikamaru.

Gaara of Sunagakure was a jinchūriki and an outcast like Naruto, but who took a destructive path growing up due to the presumed betrayal of his uncle and designated caregiver, Yashamaru. His half of episode 482 will show his sandbox days with his siblings Kankuro and Temari and some of the milder moments he had with his uncle. This was before his father told Yashamaru to test the limits Gaara's power over the beast inside him by hurting him physically, psychologically and emotionally.

The other half of next week's episode will focus on Konoha's lazy genius, Shikamaru, and what looks to be his first encounters with his eventual companions in Team 10, Choji and the popular girl Ino, who has already been seen in Sakura's arc this week.

Will "Gaara—Shikamaru" end the same way as the two first installments of the "Boyhood Arc" did, with everybody encountering the young and nonchalant Naruto for the first time? Or will this be more about Shikamaru's first chance encounter with his future wife, Temari, much like how Naruto and Hinata, then Sasuke and Sakura first met in the two preceding episodes?

Following this, episode 483 will reportedly be about Jiraiya and Kakashi's younger days with their respective teams. It is interesting to note that while the two of them come from different generations, they both grew up to become two of the most influential adults in Naruto's life. How were they like as boys? What experiences did they have that made them into the leaders and trainers that they eventually became?

"Naruto Shippuden" is also expected to adapt three 2015 Naruto-based novels into anime for its winter episodes: "Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding," "Shikamaru Hiden: A Cloud Drifting in Silent Darkness," and "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise."

Additionally, the equally popular "Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" game will be releasing an enhanced version called "Road To Boruto" as a tie-in to the anime series' ongoing arc, which is believed to be leading to the eventual introduction of Naruto's son, Boruto.

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 482 airs on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo. Episode 483 will air the following week.
