'Naruto Shippuden' spoilers: Episode 488 wraps up Sasuke arc with big clash with Chino
For the final installment of the Sasuke-centered story arc of "Naruto Shippuden," fans will have to wait an extra to week to be able to see how it all ends.
"Naruto Shippuden" will not return until next year with episode 488, "Sasuke's Story: Sunrise, Part 5: The Last Man," which will see Chino and Sasuke's ultimate clash.
The former is hell-bent on exacting revenge on Sasuke for oppressing her clan that led to her being the last of them. Chino has amassed fearsome abilities, which she is ready to use in taking down the last of the Uchiha clan.
However, the promo for "Naruto Shippuden" teases that Sasuke will try to talk Chino out of battling him and will instead make her understand why he still defends Konoha despite its dark past.
Speaking of Naruto, who inspired him to aim for a better world, Sasuke tells Chino, "I have a friend who shares in my pain. He also hopes that the world will become like that too."
Unfortunately, it looks like he will not be able to convince her, with Chino adamant that a world Sasuke longs for is "impossible."
From the looks of it, "Naruto Shippuden" episode 488 will see an epic fight between the two. This should mark the end of Sasuke's journey as well as the whole story arc for the anime.
A week after, "Naruto Shippuden" will follow an arc focused on Shikamaru. It will be straight from the "Shikamaru Hiden: A Cloud Drifting in Silent Darkness."
It is unclear how many episodes it will have, but since the source material is almost the same length as the one where Sasuke's arc was based, five episodes might be enough to tell the story.
What fans can expect is that "Naruto Shippuden" will have a new story arc by February, one that will focus on Naruto and Hinata's wedding.
"Naruto Shippuden" episode 488, "Sasuke's Story: Sunrise, Part 5: The Last Man," airs Thursday, Jan. 5, on TV Tokyo.
