'Naruto Shippuden' spoilers: What's next after 'Boyhood Arc'?
"Naruto Shippuden" is down to the last couple of episodes of the ongoing "Boyhood Arc," which dives into the early years of the core characters of the manga and the anime.
These flashback episodes will not mark the end of the anime just yet. Studio Pierrot is expected to release new episodes that chronicle life after the events of the main manga.
This means that after the current arc, which is considered as a filler, "Naruto Shippuden" will be back on track once again and will tell stories as to what became of the heroes after Sasuke and Naruto brawled it out in chapter 699.
This winter, three (Hidden Story/True Story) epilogue stories will be made into anime form. First one will be "Naruto: Shikamaru's Story" by Takashi Yano to be followed by "Naruto - Konoha Hiden: Shugen Biyori" by ShŠHinata and last are the "Naruto: Sasuke's Story – Sunrise" books by Shin Towasa.
All these stories take place months to years after Sasuke and Naruto's last battle, which was already depicted prior to the Boyhood Arc.
Two remaining episodes for the "Naruto Shippuden" filler arc will air this week and the next. The penultimate one, which will serve as episode 482, will be focusing on Gaara and Shikamaru.
This installment will detail their early years. The former's part will be set during the time he is bonding with his siblings, his uncle and his loving mother, just before things drastically changed for Gaara.
The latter's part will chronicle the time before he met the members of Team 10, who he will eventually fight and hang out with as he grows older.
"Naruto Shippuden" episode 482 will air on Thursday, Nov. 3 on TV Tokyo. A week later, a brand new episode centered on the childhood days of Jiraiya and Kakashi will be released.
