'NCIS LA' season 8 spoilers: mole gets Callen and other NCIS team members arrested after Sam goes undercover
The long wait for "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will soon be over as the series finally returns this Sunday. CBS released a promo for episode 12, "Kulinda," to tide fans over.
As revealed before, the first installment of the series for this year will see Sam (LL Cool J) go undercover in a private security firm where a Navy reservist who worked for it was killed while protecting a councilman.
The "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 12 promo does not reveal much about Sam's mission, but it does tease that he walked himself into something deadly.
Nell (Renée Felice Smith) warns Sam in the promo that these guys will stop at nothing just to get to him, which suggests that these are dangerous people that he is dealing with.
Another story that the "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode will tackle is Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Anna (Bar Paly) potentially giving their relationship another shot. After hanging out with each other over the holidays, feelings seem to have been rekindled.
However, it looks like there will be no sign of the mole in "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 12. That storyline will be dealt with in following episode, "Hot Water."
The infiltrator will make his presence felt in the installment by planting evidence results that ultimately leads to the arrest of Sam, Granger (Miguel Ferrer) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).
One of the promotional stills from "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 13 shows Sam being taken away by authorities from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
It does not look like they will be staying in prison for a while, but this will sure bring the team closer to uncovering the identity of the mole. The synopsis reads:
The mole has once again compromised the NCIS team as planted evidence results in the arrests of Callen, Sam, Granger and Deeks, on the day Under Secretary Duggan (Jackson Hurst) returns for Hetty's (Linda Hunt) resignation.
"NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 12, "Kulinda," airs Sunday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
