The team probes on a series of foreign cyber threats in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8.

Titled "Tidings We Bring," the show's winter finale centers on a cyber crime-related case. According to the official synopsis for episode 11, Sam teams up with returning character Anna (Bar Paly), while Callen (Chris O'Donnell) goes with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) as the NCIS team investigates the disappearance of a Navy Lieutenant Commander. It turns out that his death is more complicated than it seems because he is working with the NSA to combat foreign cyber threats. Also, the team celebrates the holidays together.

This week's episode saw the team being one step closer to discovering the mole's identity. Upon investigating on the mysterious assailant, they successfully tracked down Natalie Grant, aka Amber Wilcox. The team hit two birds with one stone when they learned that she also happens to be the handler of an ex-NCIS:LA employee who's being held in solitary confinement after confessing to leaking confidential information. Unfortunately, they don't know who Natalie is working for. Additionally, Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) road to recovery is going smoothly. She can now do physical activities such as preparing food and going for jogs. Her PT buddy Sullivan also came by to visit her and revealed that he will be returning overseas sometime soon.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, O'Donnell teased that the next episode exploring the mole story arc shouldn't be missed by fans due to its exciting plot twists. "I think it'll be shocking for the fans. ... There's some twists and turns that you really did not see coming," he said. "Having been around for 180 shows, I usually know what to expect, and this one was pretty clever, I have to say."

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
