'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers news: Kensi and Deeks getting hitched? Series ending after 8 seasons?
The last episodes of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 saw Deeks and Kensi talking about their relationship and a possible future together. Deeks dangled the possibility of an engagement, but the season ended before Kensi could say what's on her mind.
Spoilers for the upcoming season seem to hint that Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks' (Eric Christian Olsen) relationship would go to the next level, something the cast and crew have been a tad mum about.
Nevertheless, at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, Ruah and Olsen answered fans' questions directed to them, and more particularly, the next milestone for their characters.
According to TV Line, Olsen said an engagement is on the cards, but it won't be what fans would expect. Apparently, it would be one of the most non-traditional proposals fans would ever witness on TV.
"This is probably the craziest season for these two characters that we've ever done," Ruah added.
Ruah is currently carrying her second child with David Olsen. However, she was quick to say that the showrunners would find a way to cover up her pregnancy, as a marriage and pregnancy for her character isn't in the blueprint. Fans would recall that her absence during her first pregnancy was given a good storyline before.
"I love the first time they did that, and this time I think it's an even stronger storyline," the actress said, expressing full confidence on the show's writers.
In related news, Carter Matt "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 could be the make or break season for the series.
According to the website, there is an array of reasons for season 8 to be deemed "critical" for the series, and if things don't go well, it could be the end of the series. For one, they said the change in timeslot could affect the life of the show. They also pointed to the show's longevity, even saying eight seasons wasn't enough for "Castle" to stay on air. Finally, they surmised that cost could come into play, saying the more the show stays on air, the more it would cost, production-wise.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 2 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
