Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J star as Callen and Sam respectively on CBS' "NCIS: Los Angeles."

The latest spoilers for "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 reveal that the team will take on a terrorist from Syria when it comes back on air in the fall.

In the season 7 finale, Sam Hanna's (LL Cool J) principal enemy was Tahir Khaled (Anslem Richardson), who employed several mercenaries. To capture Tahir, G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam, Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) are forced to storm into a school in San Francisco at night.

As a result, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) team will be under investigation when the upcoming season returns. Apparently, the under secretary of the Navy has identified a mole in the Office of Special Projects (OSP), thereby prompting the investigation. Now the question is: which one of the team members is the mole?

Season 8 also sees the team being assigned a High Value Target case that involves a Syrian terrorist, according to the same report by Spoiler TV.

Meanwhile, E! News caught up with LL Cool J during CBS' Summer Television Critics Association (TCA) party last week. According to the actor, someone from the Office of Special Projects could be biting the dust when "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 returns this fall. He was asked about possible hashtags fit for the new season, and he dropped unsubtle hints as he answered. Check out the video below.

"#Somebody's got to die," he said, adding, "#Somebody's got to go, you know? #Changes. #You need to watch."

Could LL Cool J be referring to the death of the purported mole within the OSP? Is it possible that Kensi is the mole in order to justify Ruah's absence from the show, as she is now officially on maternity leave? LL Cool J was non-committal, although he did say Ruah's pregnancy got the better of the writers' creative juices.

"We don't really write around them. We just accommodate them and sometimes you can use those positive life experiences as a way to build on," the actor revealed. "It gives the writers something to build on and it gives them, actually, inspiration to take the whole season to another level. So, I think it kind of works out for the best," he added.

It looks like there's a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season aside from Deeks and Kensi's possible engagement.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will premiere on its new night and time on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. EDT, on CBS.
