'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 release date, plot spoilers: Will upcoming season see Deeks and Kensi finally tying the knot?
The production for "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 is well underway, and with a premiere date announced for the series, it looks like viewers will find out soon enough if Kensi Blye will say "Yes!" to Marty Deeks' proposal.
Fans who have been following "NCIS: Los Angeles" since day one know that Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) have been together for a good amount of time. So it's no wonder that fans are wondering whether they would take their relationship to the next level. Throughout the series, viewers have seen how much they care about each other and how they have each other's backs.
With the "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 premiere just a few months away, "Densi" fans would finally know what Kensi's answer would be.
Nevertheless, there are reports that while Kensi might say "Yes!" to the impending proposal, it wouldn't necessarily follow that they would get married right away or even consider having children soon. Deeks have already taken a huge step in talking about marriage to Kensi, and if a formal proposal is included in the upcoming season's storyline, there's no reason to rush things.
New executive producer Scott Gemmill confirmed this much when he spoke to TV Guide. Gemmill took over the reins from Shane Brennan as showrunner, and with the upcoming season being his maiden foray to the series, he dished that there are no immediate plans to inject a pregnancy for Deeks and Kensi in the horizon.
Apparently, both would still prioritize their jobs, as it would be hard, particularly for Kensi, to balance pregnancy with being an NCIS agent. Moreover, raising a baby in such a dangerous situation may be something the couple doesn't want to happen.
"That's a real conversation that has to be had, and possibly more than once. I think it's one thing to say it now, but it's another thing as time goes on and situations change. Once they are officially engaged, then I think that conversation will come back again," Gemmill told TV Guide. "And it's tricky, because neither one of them wants to give up their career, and can you have two parents in life-and-death situations on a daily basis? Is that proper parenting, or is that negligence in some way?"
Meanwhile, executive producers John Peter Kousakis posted this update in his Twitter account to let fans of the show know that it's all system's go for "NCIS: Los Angeles."
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
