'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 episode 2 spoilers: Gregorio's secret finally exposed? Pride protects lead suspect?

Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) shares some advice with Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) on "NCIS: New Orleans" season 2 finale episode. | CBS

Just like its parent series, "NCIS," "NCIS: New Orleans" opened its latest season with a new face replacing a familiar one. Vanessa Ferlito ("CSI: New York") was finally introduced as FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio, who is sent to NoLa to investigate Dwayne Pride and his team.

Agent Gregorio's arrival comes after Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody (Zoe McLellan) bid the team goodbye. Merri left after a bad move she made put the integrity of Team Pride in question. Agent Gregorio came to monitor Team Pride and see how it conducts investigations, something that didn't sit well with Percy (Shalita Grant).

The revelation in episode 1 titled "Aftershocks" was the fact that Pride (Scott Bakula) didn't have anything against Gregorio being there to probe the local NCIS team. He was actually happy to have her there. It was Percy (Shalita Grant) who felt suspicious of Gregorio, perhaps for the right reasons.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight when she joined the show, Ferlito shared that her character has a dark secret that is quite "devastating" and could potentially affect her position in Team Pride. Apparently, something happened in NoLa a few years back, in which many people suffered, and Agent Gregorio had something to do with it.

"It's not her – it's somebody she was associated with," Ferlito clarified about her character.

Meanwhile, Tuesday's episode 3 titled "Suspicious Minds" will see Pride protecting former Navy Intelligence Analyst Elvis Bertrand (Tom Arnold), who happens to be a lead suspect in a multiple murder case. According to Spoiler TV, as head of the NCIS team, Pride will face criticisms and his credibility will be put in question in the middle of the team's investigation.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 episode 2 titled "Suspicious Minds" will air on Sept. 27 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on CBS.
