'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 episode 3 plot spoilers and air date: Team Pride investigates 2 separate crimes involving petty officers
"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 will be back this Tuesday after a brief break, and this time around, the team will be investigating the murder of a petty officer that took place in a sports arena. However, here's a quick rundown of what took place in episode 2, which aired on Sept. 27.
Titled "Suspicous Minds," the episode had Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team investigating a triple homicide case that involved a former Navy Intelligence Analyst. This they do even as they continue to be under the scrutiny of an FBI Special Agent (Vanessa Ferlito) who was sent to review a previous case, which to higher-ups seemed "questionable."
Elvis Bertrand (Tom Arnold), the ex-Navy analyst is now a paranoid hacker, and has recently been a big winner in a floating poker game. Unfortunately, a quick trip outside of the cabin where he was playing with three other people including Navy Lieutenant Commander Henry Warbeck afforded the perfect opportunity for a murder.
When Elvis got back inside the cabin, it was to discover three dead people, apparently shot in his absence. However, instead of facing the authorities, Elvis flees, making him the FBI's primary suspect. Thing is, Agent Pride believes Elvis is innocent of the crime even if the murders first appeared to be cyber-motivated and computer-hack related.
Ultimately, it was discovered that the murder was an inside job from a cyber company employee who tried to move millions of dollars into an unknown account. Greed and money were the motives for the murder, but the perpetrator knew enough to commit the crime without being suspicious.
Tuesday's episode, titled "Man on Fire," the team will investigate a murder that somehow seems linked to another crime that happened elsewhere. Check out the synopsis shared by Spoilers Guide.
"After a decorated petty officer is found dead inside a sports arena, evidence leads Pride and the NCIS team to a kidnapping case of a petty officer who was last seen in Mexico."
Two petty officers, one murdered, one kidnapped. According to reports, the two crimes are somehow connected, and the team will need to figure everything out before the kidnapped victim winds up dead, too. Even the SWAT will be dragged into the case, which means it's a big one, something Pride and his team may not handle on their own. Incidentally, Mario Lopez guest stars as NOPD Officer Hernandez in the episode.
"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 episode 3 will air on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
