NCIS New Orleans season 3 spoilers: Tammy's past out to haunt her

Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito) and the rest of her colleagues in "NCIS New Orleans" season 3. | CBS

The new "NCIS: New Orleans" member Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito) will have to look back at her awful past when season 3 returns to CBS.

At the beginning of the season, the former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent was not shy to demonstrate her ill feelings toward her new assignment with the team. But this had nothing to do with her new colleagues since Gregorio had a bad experience in the city due to her ex-husband.

While fans of the spinoff series knew that Gregorio's ex-husband almost destroyed her reputation, executive producer Brad Kern revealed that she will have to face her past again in the second half of the current season.

"The gods have a way of bringing us back, in way, of what we're trying to run from," Kern said in an interview with TV Guide. "She will be confronting that emotionally and literally as the season progresses," he continued.

Could this mean that Gregorio's ex will return to fix his past mistakes? Or will he cause another trouble that will put her into another complicated situation?

Meanwhile, the team will continue dealing with various cases in the second half of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3. According to reports, the midseason premiere will be called "Follow the Money."

In the episode synopsis posted by The Futon Critic, the team will have to face the most notorious suspect in a cartel case that both the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the FBI team will handle.

The synopsis for the episode reads:

"Pride (Scott Bakula) must protect a beloved family friend who is engaged to the number one suspect in the ongoing NCIS and FBI cartel case."

Since the head of NCIS in New Orleans has a personal connection with the case, fans should expect to see Pride give his best in order to protect the said family friend.

The episode of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 is slated to air on CBS on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.
