'NCIS' season 14 plot spoilers news: Two agents bid goodbye in season 13; new characters to introduce in next installment
Fans are already eager and optimistic for "NCIS" Season 14 as season 13 wrapped up with a finale episode centered on Michael Weatherly's (Anthony DiNozzo) permanent departure from the police procedural drama show, in which he starred for more than a decade.
According to Deadline, when asked at a press conference about his potential occasional visits to the crime series as a guest actor in the future, Weatherly unhesitatingly gave a "yes" as his "long answer."
"I believe in the franchise of 'NCIS' very much. I would absolutely be open to anything and everything, including things that no one's even thought of yet," he said.
On the other hand, the case seems opposite with former "NCIS" regular Cote de Pablo who played Ziva David. There is not any confirmation about a possible reappearance for her in the show. In April, a Twitter video of her interview at Babson College revealed that there had been no intentions of her gracing the season 13 finale for Weatherly's farewell.
Following these two exits is the addition of two characters, namely, Tess Monroe (Sarah Clarke) and Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry), the FBI agent and MI6 agent, respectively, who will be collaborating with the NCIS team on the case they've all been chasing: an escaped British spy who is targeting agents all over the world.
Agent Monroe's character is described by "NCIS" producer Gary Glasberg as very involved with the case she works on and is "full of fire and cynicism and sarcasm and wit and energy and is extremely experienced." While Agent Reeves' character is said to be "edgy and fun and fast and has a real physicality to him and honestly just lights up a room."
Both of these characters may join the team full-time in season 14, but nothing is resolute yet about this development.
"NCIS" season 14 release date has yet to be officially announced, although it most likely will be in September as all the past seasons premiered during this month.
