'NCIS' season 14 spoilers: Gibbs joins militia, Bishop deals with her sudden loss in Rocky Carroll-directed episode
"NCIS" season 14 will be back next week after a week-long hiatus with episode 12, "Off the Grid," which will see the unit with their hands full.
Gibbs (Mark Harmon) gets a chance to get a lead on one of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Most Wanted when he spots the criminal's brother. He instinctively goes undercover to know where they are holed up and apprehend them once and for all.
This brings the special agent in the middle of the wanted man's anti-government militia. From the looks of it, Gibbs will need some serious backup in "NCIS" season 14, episode 12.
After all, the former U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper will be dealing with highly trained and skilled band of soldiers. It will be exciting to see how the NCIS takes them out.
As all this happens in "NCIS" season 14, episode 12, Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Reeves (Duane Henry) will be up to something else entirely — an "off-the-books investigation."
There is no information yet on the nature of this case, but considering Bishop's latest heartbreak (her boyfriend was shot in the midst of Operation Willoughby in the previous episode), it might have something to do with stopping the person who put Qasim (Rafi Silver) in the horrible situation, Chen (Bruce Locke).
What makes "NCIS" season 14, episode 12 extra special is that it will be directed by cast member Rocky Carroll, who plays NCIS director Leon Vance.
This is not the first time Carroll will pull double duty on the series, though. In fact, "Off the Grid" marks the fourth episode of the most-watched drama he lends his directorial skills to.
In the previous season, he directed a couple of episodes — "Déjà Vu" and "Viral." In season 12, he took the director's seat for "We Build, We Fight."
"NCIS" season 14, episode 12 should be extra exciting for those who are fans of the actor's work behind the camera.
"NCIS" season 14, episode 12, "Off the Grid," airs Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
