The new Radeon Rx 500 series will soon be released by Advance Micro Device (AMD), which will feature two variants of graphics processing units.

AMD will be revealing a new set of graphics processing units that will cater to both the enthusiasts and the general consumers, according to WCCF Tech.

It was first hinted that AMD will be releasing a new set of graphics processing units when they posted a teaser on their official Twitter account with the caption, "New Year. New architecture."

Then, news broke that AMD's GPU Vega architecture will be applied to a new set of units because the Radeon RX 400 series can no longer accommodate the new additions.

The new series of graphics processing units are identified as AMD's Radeon RX 500 chips, and their variants would be based on their HBM2 and GDDR5/X models.

The graphics processing unit that will adhere to the enthusiasts in the market will have a 16 GB capacity and a 2048-bit memory bus or 2 HBM2 stacks at 1000MHz. Meanwhile, the other unit that is designed for the general consumers features four HBM2 stacks or a 4096-bit memory bus at 500 MHz

According to Yibada, it is expected that AMD will also equip the new Radeon RX 500 series with the Next Compute Unit (NCU). The series will also come with a high bandwidth cache and controller.

Meanwhile, iSports Times reports that Radeon Instinct MI125 will be the first graphics processing unit to feature the Vega architecture. The Radeon Instinct MI125 is said to have a 90 percent higher performance compared to the Titan X Maxwell in terms of deep learning application. It is also said to be 50 percent better than the Titan X, which relies on Pascal architecture.

The AMD Radeon RX 500 series is expected to be released in January 2017 at the Consumer Electronics Show which is hosted by the Consumer Technology Association.
