New Avengers Nova, Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel to Join Marvel's Captain America, Iron Man, Thor on May 2
Followers of Marvel's comicbook universe should get ready and mark their calendars now as "the biggest heroes, biggest creators, and biggest stories" will come together during the upcoming Free Comic Book Day on May 2 this year.
Marvel is set to reveal its new roster of Avengers as well as the next epic chapter of the Inhumans saga on that day, FreeComicBookDay said in an announcement. By coincidence, that is the day after "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is released in theaters.
Eisner-award winning wordsmith Mark Waid – who worked on Daredevil and S.H.I.E.L.D. – and artist Mahmud Asrar – whose portfolio includes the All-New X-Men – team up to take the challenge of taking the new squad to their very first spin. Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Vision will be joined by rookies Nova, Miles Morales, and Ms. Marvel for an all-new team of Avengers in "All-New, All-Different Avengers."
Fans will also get their hands on the next chapter of "The Uncanny Inhumans." Charles Soule – the writer who worked on the blockbuster "Death of Wolverine" – and Brandon Peterson – the artist behind "Age of Ultron" – worked together to lay the new groundwork for the future of the Inhumans. Medusa and her team are tasked to protect their kind from those who would want to use their powers for evil as the Terrigen Mists continue to awaken new Inhumans across the globe. The big question is: Why is Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, now a member of their squad?
Fans will get more treats on Free Comic Book Day as Marvel is set to unveil Secret Wars #0 – the prelude to this year's biggest comic event, just in time for the release of Secret Wars #1 on the very next Wednesday. Scribes Jonathan Hickman and Hajime Isayama team up with artists Paul Renaud and Gerardo Sandoval for this very special overture.
