'New Girl' season 6 episode 15 spoilers: Nick and Winston to face challenges in career and love in 'Glue'

Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) may have used to be a thing, but they will always be friends first and foremost. So when Nick freaks out over his first book signing event, he can trust Jess to be on hand to help him get through it in the next episode of "New Girl."

Whatever Nick may have had about his writing career gets shaken off its hinges when his girlfriend, Reagan (Megan Fox), lands him a book signing deal. Instead of getting excited over meeting fans of his epic-length novel, the opportunity will, instead, make him question his worth as a novelist. Does he really have what it takes to write a chronicle that other people, aside from The Lofties, will love enough to come to a book signing?

What if nobody turns up? Or worse, what if people do turn up and he ends up saying all the wrong things? This seems like the perfect distraction for Jess, who has just broken up with most recent flame, Robby (Nelson Franklin), after they realized they were third-degree cousins. Jess will do her best to boost Nick's confidence and make sure that the book signing event proceeds as smoothly as it can possibly go.

In an interview with E! News during the Television Critics Association's (TCA) 2017 Winter Press Tour, actor Johnson shared that he was aware of the fiery effect the Nick–Jess romance has on the show's fanbase and hinted that the show may well continue stoking that fire.

"I would be shocked if the characters didn't give it another try at some point," Johnson said. Although, he did also express his hopes that the show will take its time rebuilding that relationship instead of just pulling a Band-Aid fix on it.

Simply titled "Glue," the next episode will also feature Winston's (Lamorne Morris) grand proposal plan, for which he will enlist Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece's (Hannah Simone) help. How will his girlfriend Aly (Nasim Pedrad) respond to Winston's marriage proposal? Whether favorable or not, how will Winston respond to Aly's reply? Will Winston's beloved cat Furguson be involved in the plan?

"New Girl" season 6 episode 15 airs on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
