New Islamic State Video Purportedly Shows Boy Executing 2 'Spies'
The Islamic State terror group has released a video that allegedly shows a boy shooting and killing two Russian "spies."
The seven-and-a-half minute video, released Tuesday by the Islamic State's production wing al-Hayat, begins by showing the two men admitting to being Russian spies who worked in Syria and Turkey to get close to Islamic State militants.
The men, who speak Russian in the video, identify as being members of Russia's spy agency, the FSB. After the men are interrogated about their alleged spy activity for several minutes, the film cuts to an outdoor scene, where an Islamic State militant is standing next to a boy with long hair, a zip up sweatshirt and military-style pants.
The two Russian spies are kneeling before the boy and the adult militant, and the adult begins saying that the two "spies" are in the "custody of the lion cubs" under the Islamic State's self-proclaimed "caliphate."
The boy then appears to shoot the two men in the back of the head with a pistol. According to CBS News, the video appears to be heavily edited and has yet to be independently verified.
The shocking video released by the Islamic State comes days after the terror group released a set of photos showing a 14-year-old boy who allegedly served as a suicide bomber for the terror group.
The photos show the boy, 14-year-old Abu al-Hassan al-Shami of Syria, posing in an armored vehicle while holding a hand grenade. The photo sequence then shows the boy's alleged vehicle in an explosion of fire and smoke. The Islamic State has attributed the recent suicide bombing as the attack on the city of Samarra, where Iraqi troops remain stationed.
