Apple has released a new iTunes 12 beta download earlier than the scheduled release date for some Mac users.

Last week the Cupertino-based tech company released a new version of the iTunes 12 Beta for developers and OS X Yosemite beta testers. The release of the new beta version followed Monday's release of the Yosemite Golden Candidate.

Several beta versions have been released for iTunes 12, since the update was introduced on July. The first beta released for iTunes 12 is said to feature an elegant new design that supports several features of iOS 8 and Yosemite, including Family Sharing. The update of the popular application also includes better playlists, a redesigned Info Window, and a new icon.

The succeeding beta versions were reportedly released to fix small bugs and other minor issues. The latest beta version, however, features new top bar icons in preferences with an iOS-style design, as well as stoplight buttons that have been placed into the middle.

Reports say that the graphics and function of the mini player's expand and collapse button has changed, along with the Plus and Gear icons.

Aside from the said fixes, reports say that the 214 MB beta update does not appear to list anything different from the previous beta versions.

As of now, both iTunes 12 and OS X Yosemite remain in a beta testing phase. Insiders say that the iTunes 12 will be available for public release possibly around the same time as the OS X Yosemite release date this month.

Once launched, iTunes 12 is expected to bring a sophisticated design that would fit well with the upcoming and highly anticipated operating system's flat aesthetic. It is said that translucent windows will be featured by the media storage, purchase and playback platforms. In addition to this, other features include reorganized navigation bar, as well as new options for viewing the library.
