Nintendo NX release date, news & update: 4K support available for console? Special game bundles and features teased
Not much is known about the Nintendo NX release date, as most information being leaked online are based on fan theories and speculations. Recently, though, a Reddit post had fans who are eagerly awaiting the release of the console giddy with excitement.
Apparently, the Reddit post contained leaked details teasing the specifications, features, and inclusive game bundles of the said console. As per the leak, the Nintendo NX will include support for 4K streaming. The Reddit user, who goes by the handle FlapSnapple, even shared that the console will have a resolution of 1080p at 60 frames per second. He credits the product leaks to an employee working for a large retailer.
To those not familiar with 4K support, it basically means the Nintendo NX will allow its users to stream online content from streaming sites such as Netflix.
It certainly looks like this leakster, or at least his source of information, knows a lot about the Nintendo NX, as he even revealed that posters for the console will include the slogan, "Interact with your game on the go." Should the slogan prove to be correct, then the information being leaked online by FlapSnapple matches previous reports that one of the Nintendo NX's features is its dual functionality; it can work as a standard console and as a handheld device.
As per other reports, the gaming company will apparently release demo units to different retailers starting February 2017. The Nintendo NX will purportedly retail at $299.99 with game bundles costing $399.99. Further details about the bundle packages were not provided. However, it's possible that there will be 4 gaming titles included in the Nintendo NX's upcoming release.
Meanwhile, rumors that the yet-to-be-released Nintendo NX will be called Nintendo Duo have been debunked. It will be recalled that a certain Twitter user, with handle @VOOK64, unveiled a photoshopped picture revealing the alleged name. The post was apparently a snapshot of a supposed "software partner briefing" from Nintendo.
However, according to iDigital Times, the Twitter user later on said he was simply "bored," prompting him to create the image.
The Nintendo NX release date is expected to be March 2017. In the meantime, keep coming back for more news and updates about the gaming console.
