Nintendo NX release updates: Addition of virtual reality function is the reason behind manufacturing delay?
There has reportedly been a delay in the mass production of Nintendo NX video game console in order to figure the virtual reality feature in the device which will look to boost the gaming experience that the system has to offer.
According to Digitimes, the schedule of the mass production of Nintendo's newest game console has been moved to early 2017 from the original mid-2016 timetable. The interruption in the initially slated production plans is associated with Nintendo's intentions to accommodate the integration of a virtual reality functionality into the gadget's system. Affixing a virtual reality function is an adjustment made to target gaining the upper hand over competitors.
Sources with reportedly immediate knowledge of the production processes and calendar said that the Nintendo NX will be fusing domestic gaming experience and mobile gaming functionality. Nintendo NX will be having a 5-to-7-inch display, and a controller and a joystick for consumers to be able to operate the console as a mobile gaming tool just as they are to be able to connect the new NX to a TV and play as a conventional video gaming platform.
Nintendo's mobile games have been well-received by gamers. The number of players of "Miitomo" has already exceeded 10 million since the game's release. On the other hand, community simulation game "Animal Crossing" which requires social interaction also sold more than 20 million units on Nintendo's portable game console 3Ds system.
Nintendo initially planned to order 20 million video game consoles but ended up with a shipment target of 9.5 to 10 million units. This decline in the volume of orders is allegedly linked to the poor market performance of Wii U back in 2015. The Wii U console sold poorly at a shipment performance of only two million devices that year.
The Nintendo NX will be built and put together by the Foxconn Technology Group, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry. Foxconn refused to make comments about details and speculations involving Nintendo and the company's range of devices.
